WHAT ARE YOUR CANDLES MADE OF?

I use a purely natural blend of coconut and soy wax, the highest quality fragrance oils and lead free cotton wicks. Phthalate, Paraffin & paraben free, cruelty free and vegan friendly.

WHAT IS IN YOUR FRAGRANCE OILS?

The fragrance oils I use are made using a blend of natural and synthetic ingredients. Natural components are extracted from flowers or plants and synthetic components are from man-made ingredients. This blend is optimised for candle making.

DO I NEED TO TRIM THE WICK OF MY CANDLE?

Yes, I would strongly recommend trimming the wick to approx. 5mm prior to lighting your candle. This will give you the best results and reduce black residue on your jar.

WHAT ARE SCENT NOTES?

You may have noticed scent notes referenced on candles, particularly as "Top, Middle & Base".

Top notes are the initial impression of the fragrance you get when first smelt and is the quickest to evaporate.

Middle notes are generally the most prominent fragrance notes that you enjoy when burning your candle and can take 10-20 minutes to fully develop.

Base notes are what gives your candle the lasting qualities and will be the scents that linger after a candle is blown out.

WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE THERE IS AN AIR BUBBLE OR DARK SPOT ON THE SIDE OF MY JAR?

This is what candle makers refer to as a 'wet spot'. When natural waxes are used to make candles, sometimes in different temperature conditions the wax will contract away from the glass. The glass adhesion does not affect the burning of your candle and is purely aesthetic, so don't worry.

ARE YOUR JARS RECYCLABLE?

Yes and in fact I encourage you to recycle and reuse your candle jars. Jars look great as decor, seedling planters and handy storage for little nic nacs too.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY CANDLE JAR?

After you have finished burning your candle, remove any excess wax and clean the jar with warm soapy water.

Here's a trick i like to use - Leave your candle jar in the freezer overnight. The next day, any leftover candle wax should easily break apart and come out using a butter knife or spoon. Warm soapy water should take care of the rest.

WHY DOESN'T MY CANDLE HAVE A STRONG SCENT?

Not all scents are equal and some are stronger than others. With that in mind, to achieve a maximum scent throw, ensure you burn your candle to achieve a full melt pool. Meaning that the wax has melted all the way to the edge of the jar. A full melt pool gives off the strongest scent.

It is also important to remember, that the strength of a scent is a personal preference and depends on the size of the room it is burning in too. I have created a collection of candles at strengths that I believe are enjoyable but not overpowering. I do love receiving your feedback though, so please reach out at any time :)
